Anchors

The best type of carport roof for you will depend on your needs and budget. If you are looking for a simple and affordable option, a regular roof is a good choice. If you want a more finished look and additional protection from the elements, A Frame roof is a good option. If you live in an area with high winds or heavy snow, a vertical roof is a good option.

Standard Anchor

Standard Anchor

Steel Building Stores offers a rebar anchor. This is used to anchor the steel tube base rails to the ground/dirt, gravel or asphalt, securing them in the post hole with concrete.

Rebar anchors are recommended in areas of low winds and sturdy soil. Strong winds erode the area around the anchor and this affects the stability of the entire structure.

Steel Building Stores offers rebar anchors that are 1/2" x 32".

High Wind Anchors

High Wind Anchors

Steel Building Stores offers a high wind anchor. These anchors are used for ground installations on our certified buildings.

High wind anchors are an auger type of anchor that "screw" into the earth and offers superior uplift resistance.

We recommend High Wind Anchors for installation in high wind areas and taller structures.

Concrete Anchors

Concrete Anchors

Steel Building Stores offers a concrete anchor. These anchors are included for all concrete installation.

Concrete anchors are hammered drilled into your existing slab. Steel Building Stores does not recommend "wet setting" of anchors bolts.

Concrete is one of the best, most stable surfaces upon which you can install and anchoring your carport or metal structure.

Asphalt Anchors

Asphalt Anchors

Steel Building Stores offers an upgraded asphalt anchor. These anchors are available for installation on asphalt.

Asphalt anchors are barbed and offer a superior tie down over the rebar anchor. This anchor should only be used on asphalt surfaces, as it is not effective in concrete or soil installation.
